i made a 4" exhaust running to a single 5" stack, but I used the stock 3" elbow off the turbo. Is this going to cause a restriction with the stock turbo? I've been on the fence since I finished it wondering if I should change it to a 4" elbow or wait until I get a bigger turbo, likely in the spring since I'll need to modify it then anyway.

Some pics, there are no cab mounts in right now so it will have a bit more clearance than there is now.

I want to make one out of 6 inch for kicks or have one made out of 6 inch pipe.

 

The 3" to 4" transition you've got there should work just fine seeing as the turbos outlet is 3".

I'd be more concerned about stress put on the turbo's flange with with the weight of the exhaust plumbing and the normal vibration & twisting of the engine with normal operation. That's why Dodge attached the stock/OEM down-pipe to the trans bell-housing . . . to take that stress off the turbo flange.

 

I will be attaching the exhaust to the frame with exhaust hangers once everything is complete.

My concern is the elbow is not actually 3" more like 3x2" due to the way it is bent.

Decided to change it out for a 4" elbow, much happier with it now:

 

Nice, it will help, I believe, it will have some restriction but there is almost nothing you can do about the exit flange size. LOL It looks great man.

 

Well my thought is that is pretty much the least restrictive exhaust I can do other than a hood stack, so I'm satisfied knowing I did the best I can practically do.

Also if I upgrade to a turbo with a 4" outlet it's a simple cut and weld to change it from 3 to 4".

 

I found all the stuff I need to do a 5 inch DP and intermediate pipe and Y pipe with 90 degree elbows and 45's off eBay and plan to make my exhaust setup by the end of spring, the DP, intermediate pipe, to the completed Y pipe will cost a little under $400 to make Should be $380 by the time I'm done or less, possibly. Looking good to me.
