Hole above where cam goes in the block?

Default Hole above where cam goes in the block?

Rebuilding a 7.3 with a friend and we wanna know of this is suppose to be here like if it was for oil to go through. But the edges are kinda jagid so we aren't sure. Name:  image.jpg

If its in the center of the valley that is for the mechanical fuel pump on the obs engine.

i thinks that picture is in the end of the block. notice the bearing? that hole is probably ok. the timing cover goes over it.

It is the end of the block, thats the cam bearing according to the Op but that hole sure dosn't look factory. Could be just a casting error but I don't see why it would hurt anything, a little extra oil on the cam gear maybe.

looking at the machined surface above the hole i'm going to say it's ok.

that is the passage that supplies oil to the resiviour for thehigh pressure oil pump. you are fine. make sure the pipe plug to the right of the cam bearing is tight if it comes out you will not start cause you will get no oil to your high pressure pump.
