hey guys new here just trying to find away to make more boost outa my truck it already has the ts 6position chip but only making 10 psi not making enough so my ? is would a 99-03 turbo make more boost on my 97 powerstroke if i changed the waste gate out for a bigger one ?? its getting alot of fuel and too much smoke i figuer more boost wud stop all that cuz it wud have to burn the remainder of the fuel thats getting produced ? ci or no ha any help wud be great thanks

Well it sounds to me like you have a boost leak... If ten is the maximum boost pressure you can get at WOT, then you have a leak... It should be 20ish psi with your chip assuming that's all the aftermarket parts you have. You need to pressurize the air system and find the leak... Most common areas to leak are going to be plenums and intake boots... Good luck.
As for the Superduty turbo, it's not a direct replacement. You have to swap the plenums, uppipes, pedistal, drivers side exhaust manifold etc... It's not worth it for little to no gain...

thanks man ive bin stressing over this for like 4 days haha im just gonna buy 2 new rubber boots tomarrow i dont wanna have to check for a leak and also gauge wise whats the best gauge to buy ??????
and also i have a diy intake and chip strait piped got the down pipe coming soon as i take my cows this weekend to the sale

I would build a boost leak detector... Just need some pvc with a stem valve to pressurize the intake system... Then some soapy water in a squirt bottle... You can throw parts at it for as long as you want but it will be worth it to actually find the problem...
Best gauges IMO are ISSPROs... I run autometers though and haven't had any problems for a couple years now...
