"The" 2 Stroke Oil Thread

Would just like to state that all of us Military guys, especially those of us who have done a WEE more that 4 years, are not all complete egomaniacs. Some of us, who have been using military fuel on a DAILY BASIS (JP-4, JP-5, JP-8, and so called military Diesel) in everything from helicopters to heaters for the last 20 years, know that there's a HUGE difference between fuels, and that the ENGINES were made to be "multi-fuel", not the fuel. Will a HMMWV (M998 and the like) run on JP-8? Yep, sure will. Will it run on Diesel? Sure, but it never gets to see it unless you convoy to a Shell Station! Is there a difference between the military's diesel and what we can all get at the pump? Absolutely! The military doesn't buy bulk diesel for its' vehicles. Sure, the gas stations on post get regular ULSD to sell to us who drive our POV's, but the POL guys who deliver the fuels from the rail cars and tank farms give the same fuel to the trucks and their stations as they do the aircraft and their refueling points. Civilian vehicle fuel points are using ULSD, right from the local purchased fuel points. They just changed to that in '05 when the rest of the U.S. did. The rest get JP-8 (lower 48, Korea, Honduras), JP-4 (Alaska and Northern posts), and I used JP-5 in Germant from '91-'93. JP-4 is right about the middle of Diesel and Kerosene. Our multi-fuel engines burn everything from Diesel, to Kerosene, and everything in between. The LE-T55-714A on my helicopter will burn everything just short of water (Diesel, Kerosene, JP-4,5, and 8, AVGAS, 100LL, and even Amoco Ultimate unleaded!) At least for 6 flight hours, then we have to purge the tanks and rebuild the hot-end if we use MOGAS. It will not, however, actually burn water. An AH-6 in Panama, and a CH-47D in Iraq can attest to that! Morons! This just leads me to believe this... Don't most people join the Military so that they DON'T have to pump gas for a living?
As far as the "military set standards on fuel" goes... you're lucky if the idiots in the Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants division (POL) don't pump you full of WATER! Which is why we aqua-glow every truck, every morning! Not trying to dump on Rustin and his 3rd Shop experiences, but for the love of Gunnie, relax, Bro! Take the Jar off, get some fresh air, and RELAX!!!

And if THAT doesn't get you to post again, NOTHING WILL!!!!

Common if your going to argue apples and oranges then stick to your guns! First you say there is no extra smoke then yous say it does smoke blueish if you add to much. Lets think about this? Of course if you add to much it will smoke! But here lies the problem if you have the dilutions correct. NOT ALL TRUCKS ARE CREATED EQUAL! Some will some wont. especially the older trucks, with the exception of some post 2007 trucks. You of all people should know this! how many Power-plants have you tore into? Go ahead and crack on me this is my last post on this thread. End of story! BTW thanks for the info, some was correct

Got my new 10 pack box 2-stroke oil today.
I also have to pass emissions and safety inspection this month. I will post the offical results.
Yes, I do use Synthetics and I don't care if it is overbuying, because I already can afford to pay 2 times per gallon of Diesel than you do. So it simply doesn't matter.( and I will clean the scanner glass window!)
