Using ATF in tank.
im no expert but i wanna know how in the hell all these people that run a large ratio of atf or oil to diesel in there trucks can get that crap sucked up out of their tanks on a any day that is below say 60 degrees....wouldnt it be like trying to suck molasses through a straw in the winter time?
I'm runnin recycled oil in my tractor at about 1,5 gal of oil per 10gal of fuel and that's about the limits. Higher then that smoked at idle and left raw oil on the exhaust pipe, Not to mention the power loss at higher concentrations.
when i first started to use additives, any of them PS, howe's, eng oil, MMO. run tcw-II/III, have used atf(dex-III) noticed quiter operation and some increase in mpg. i atribute to heavier base stock, should slowdown ignition/burn-rate. if you go to bobistheoilguy and search atf in fuel and army. the army had serious pump failure rate and atf/eng oil was suggested to replace lube that mil-spec JP5 or 8 did not have. JP5 is naval fuel distilate(DFM, nato #76) has higher flashpoint, JP8 is for shorebased that can't land on ship or burndown below 50% capacity and topoff fuel on landing. the army did motor vehicle command test and field testing and approved use of eng oil or atf, there is document but can't find it.
every oil change i run through a quart and it has enabled me to keep a pump from 1989 still alive. the previous owner of the engine did this and now that the engine is nearing 90000 miles, the pump is fading but man what a lifespan! two stroke and atf, lovin it!
Modern pumps has close tolerances and the ATF does not burn ash less. ATF in a 2nd,3rd or 4thh generation is not recommended.

have it the other way round....
