Hey Longhorn, is that Castrol 5W50 diesel rated? Just curious, never seen it before.
To answer the question posted, I run Amsoil HDD 5W30. Had excellent results with the Esso XD3 0W40 as well.

I've used this oil for the life of the truck and still getting awesome fuel mileage and doesn't use a drop of oil between changes. What I put in the crankcase comes back out at change time!

XD-3 is available in a Group IV synthetic as well but is 0W40 weight.

Yeah... But I don't think there is a real need for me to switch to synthetic oil. So far its been doing good on this. Good MPG numbers, good HP/TQ numbers, just good all the way around... But thank Dr. Evil...
