Turbo options
I was towing my buddies old 76 pickup on a trailer last night up some pretty long inclines, not bad hills though. it was putting a decent load on my turbo and it was making a cherping/ screaching soung. so i called a buddy on it and he said it's bearings going out. which makes sense. now my question is should i have the turbo rebuilt? or should i go with something after market? if i go with an after market, what should i get? currently it has a DIY intake, 4" turbo back exhaust, and a superchip. (i'll put a post in the quote section also) if i go with something other than stock, i don't want to have to do injectors rightaway, but I'd like it to be able to support a stage 1 or maybe a 2 later down the road. thanks in advance.

i just checked how much shaft play there is, not quite 1/16" side to side but there is a little mor than 1/16" in and out. not quite 1/8" though.

Other then that the best turbo for what your telling me would be a 38R... If your looking for one of those post up in the sponser section and see who you get. I know Dennis had some, but I bet some of our sponsers do as well.

E99... Nope, you will have to convert everything over to a Late 99 set up. So now you have two or three options...
1. Have your E-99 turbo rebuilt, but I dont think there is an issue with it, you do not hear the bearings go out.
2. Buy up all the parts to swap to a late 99 set up and run a 38R
3. Get a T-4 or T-4i mount kit from someone and bolt up a H2e or S300...
You will not feel turbo surge, you will hear it.

ok. thanks. now for the things i need for the late 99,do i need the up pipes, exhaust Y pipe, pedistol?, intake spider pipe, intercooler pipes,......? or what? or for the T4 or T4i mount kit, do those come with everything needed less the actual turbo? i know ats sells a kit but they want $3,100 and your first born. and i try not to support them. who else sells those mount kits? and between the 38R, H2E, and S300, which is the best all around? i do alot of towing. and the ocasional lead foot to the next traffic light.
