vp44 electronic fix

Folks, you are dealing with Surface mounted devices. Even a hot air pencil has to much power to solder it.
A 15W solder is the absolute maximum for it. Usually you need a special solder iron for it.
Make sure to take away heat from the upper legs with a fine (!)clamping plier.
There is also a time limit (3s!) when soldering it. Give it time to cool down if you solder.
Staggering the wires isn't only avoiding wrong reconnect. It is also done to avoid shorts.

if its firing keep cranking it will run on two cylinders and eventually smooth out and get the air out of the lines

if your vp44 has been subject to low fuel pressure or has been ran out of fuel i have heard that there is a diaphram that can stretch or tear and cause the code 0216 is this true?

Yes Sir, there is a small diaphragm that is stressed if there is a low or no fuel pressure situation.
This low fuel pressure and the electrical situation being mentioned are THE major failure's of a VP44.
Note Also; if you have installed a rebuilt unit in the last few years the electrical problem has been addressed by Bosch re-builders, not the diaphragm problem.

Fiveseven keep cranking but give your starter a break every 15 seconds sometimes it takes MINUTES of cranking on restart up after messing with lines just put battery
charger on and keep cranking (with starter cooldowns of course!)
