Well I am about to try it on this truck am working on its a 2001 with 260,000 miles and I have been getting dead pedal and the P0216 code . Hope this fixes the problem and don't have to spend some g's. So I took it of today and forgot to stagger the first set of wires but what I did is that I put a pice of red tape on one end of the cable and another on the other end is that going to work or did I just messed every thing up. O and the other mistake i did was that when I unplug the big harness I broke one of the little tabs that locks it in will this have any effect when ever I plug it back on the ,the other one still locks in.But I got the resistor already just trying to find an electrician guy.

the reason you stagger the cuts is to make sure the correct wires get reconnected.
This fix might make some cheap cores worth something.

When you order the mosfet, get it in what's called a DPAK and not the TO-220 that's the shape of it.. no modifications needed.

yes, someone with a good soldering iron is required, hot air pencil is an even bigger plus.

DPAK

Can you tell i'm the electronics guy? if anyone is in the general northeast ohio area I can do this for you.

edit: edit: edit: this is basically what happend in the chevy 6.5 PMD modules.. same fix different part

Ok so I got mine done. Followed all the instructions, but it wont start. The insulation of the cables was pretty old and cracked do when I was peeling them the insulation fell apart so I tried as much as possible to get them covered on one I put a shrinking tube and the other one I used liquid tape but I think theres still part of that cable touching metal could this cause any problems . Because this is whats going on I put every thing back on and loosen some injectors and it wont start. So I loosen the banjo bolt on the vp44 to check if it was getting fuel there and it did came out with a lot of pressure so I tighten the banjo back on and loosen injector line 3,4 and 5 I am on getting fuel out of injector 4 and 5 . What should I do?

I'm no expert but sounds to me like you ought to try crankin some more. Cuz if you're getting fuel at 4 and 5 it'd be my guess fuel is moving but just hasn't made it all the way through yet. How long did you try crankin it?

Yes one of the cables the one closest to the engine was touching metal because the insulation of it came out when I was stripping it came apart in small pieces so I tought it wasn't touching metal till I went back today and saw it was touching the metal on the vp44 so I put liquid tape the one they sell at home depot but I guess is to late huh .It wont start I tried everything. And yes I had an electronics guy help me out.
