Most hotrods wont even push 500-550... they struggle above the 500 RWHP mark.

OK lets have a pros and cons Whats best for the HO truck page. Im in the dont wana HO
do I get a HRVP or SO-boat I have talked it over with some knowlegeble peeps and still on the fence.

Brady at II says go HR never look back says lots of people dont like the drivability of SOs Unless u run the smarty with it. Also says he wont accept a HO core if u order SO.

I guess the trade is longevity for lowend power right?

the new BD it supposed to be different than the others any truth to this?

HO = higher pressure ~550HP ceiling, advances timing better low end throttle response
think stroked engine
SO = higher flow ~650HP ceiling, responds better to the timing of a performance box, better upper rpm power. Think bored engine

HRVP think best of both. In theory it should be about 10% more fuel and more aggressive down low, but many dynos #'s don't support the extra peak HP. Some are very happy, some are not.

Default New VP 44 ??

Well looks like i just pulled the code from my truck and got a P1688. Died on the highway Saturday. I guess I'm going to try and save some money and do it myself. Not to sure on which type of pump to buy. If your spending the money should you get an upgraded aftermarket one? If I go with a bosch remanu. will this happen again? I was also told to install a fuel pressure gauge, how would that have helped this from happening? Thanks!!

FP gauge is important to have to make sure you have enough fuel pressure and lubrication for the VP44. You will want to monitor it because a bad lift pump can make the VP44 work too hard and too hot and kill the $1000 pump.

so no body wanna help a brotha out? Still undecided I really hate to put a SO on because its not like the truck is a dyno queen its a DD and I dont spend much time on the top-end, I hate the slow spool of my SPS right now enough without a SO making it worse. So do I go back with a HO or go to a HRVP and if so do I use a II or BD so far only one bad pump sold by BD not that they have piles of them out there I expect less than a hundred so far...

rivercat,

tunnel ram will help spool up 50-100rpm
if you are not going over 500hp just get the HO and some 150hp injectors,
if you want more than 550 get a SO or to keep the lower rpm power get a hotrod. you can find them for under $1500. check out the best deals ever thread.
