Hey guys. I have a 93 7.3 factory turbo diesel. It's got the factory Garrett turbo on it. I love it but I just can't seem to hear the turbo. I really want to upgrade the turbo, I guess. I'm wanting it to be louder is all. There's noting like hearing that whistle from a turbo! But what size turbo or what brand turbos could I look for without having to change gaskets and bolts and what not?

 

what is on it for exhaust, that could make a big diffrence on turbo whistle.

 

It's got a stock down pipe and as soon as the pipe gets to about under the cab is goes to a 5 inch straight pipe

 

in that case, if you want more whistle, you probably need a turbo upgrade, Im not the right person to ask about that.

yeah, the garrett turbos wear out after a while. you may not be hearing anything because the turbo is limping along
