$50 stock air filter? ? Where do you buy the filters at?

should be able to get them for around $20....

So far all I've found up here is the wix filters nobody has a fram. I went with the s&b. Whole shabang for 300$. With scoop and prefilter. From what I've read and the people I've talked to the best way to get milage out of the 6.7 is to give it more air. I've already got a 5" turbo back exhaust so this is the next step naturally. Really eager to see how more responsive this new Throttle body will be.

Its for emissions when the engine is cold. Ever notice old diesels smoke white in cold weather? Thats not condensation like gassers thats incomplete combustion. Heater grid helps get rid of that.

The grid heater from what i have seen takes place of glow plugs like the psd has.
No, Cummins engines don't need glowplugs or heaters. The off-road/industrial versions don't have grids.

The shop I worked at had an old 94 Ottowa yard goat, turbo and jacket water intercooler but no heater grid or ether. Even with 26,000 hours and extreme abuse that thing had no problems starting in 0*f weather. Now when it got down into the negatives, it would take a shot of ether to get the initial fire going.

my 91.5 cummins will not start in cold weather without the aid of the grid heater.

This is not accurate information. The poster is in Alaska. He NEEDS a grid heater. It does not provide much resitriction and its benefits far outweigh its drawbacks.

Sorry, I just realized I kinda hijacked the thread. For related info that could be useful. Anyway Geno's has Fleetguard listed at $25 and Mopar at $30, maybe shipping on top of that.

Our big 3 phase (cummins) generators at work have grid heaters. They are offroad/ industrial.

True. That is why I oppted for the new tb. It has a built in heat grid. While allowing more air flow.
