can you block off egr with plates and freeze plug without tuner and if so will it generate fault codes from egr?

you could, but yes you will get a code without a tunner to turn it off. its just like the dpf deletes you have to remove the program or alter it or codes will set and the check engine lights will come on.

You will need a tuner to turn off the EGR.
