Default 07 6.7L Dpf w/o tuner

I would like to delete the DPF without using a tuner. I am tired of the 80% exhaust full regen message on the overhead and ok when it hits 70%.
I am happy with the power level for towing. I don't expect great mileage just better than a gasser.
It seems to be that we are dealing with the temperature sensors that are on either side of the DPF. Is it possible to tweak the resistance of these to relate to a 40% full output after removing the DPF? I understand that if the DPF is removed and the readings are the same it freaks out.
Has anyone already looked into this?
Dropping $1000 to $1500 for the DPF delte kit and a Tuner seems too high priced for what I'm looking for.
Any ideas?

We have electronics that will allow you to remove the dpf without running a tuner. You would be better off running a Smarty Jr.

I'm curious why better off with Smarty. I'm not trying to boost power. Just trying to do away with annoying regen message. Unless I can improove my mileage significantly I dont want to throw a bunch of money at it. I already can smoke the tires while towing my 34' toyhauler. I am concerned about the threads saying that they have to keep reloading with the programmer. I have this nonsense right now as it is. Down the road after warranty is up I might do that but not now.
