Default Need Advice on Throttle Valve Delete Thanks

getting parts in to do Egr delete, Diamond Eye 4" turbo back, smarty jr me, and GDP Big Bore Throttle Valve Delete. it gets Cold here in the winters -0 to -36 with wind chill. my truck is currently all stock except banks intake and exhaust and the truck cold starts good without block heater plugged in.

If i get rid of the stock throttle valve (which has the butterfly valve inside) will cold start up be affected ?

Anything else to consider?

I realize there are products out there to remove or improve Grid heaters and how they function just not quite ready to pull the pin on them yet. I am a New b so please keep it simple.

sounds your on the right track.. the valve will not effect the cold start or anything else for that matter. if you do the grid delete gdp makes one where it moves the heater to where the throttle valve is suppose to be. they say it flows a little better then the factory grid. hope this helps

Thanks Coors_Man_2005

I seen the grid heater Throttle Valve by gdp and was wondering if the old grid heater could be removed with ease. I seen some posts about grinding the old GH out and ya gotta be real careful where your shavings end up. would the air boss 67 be worth installing if i did the gdp GH TV. for now i plan to keep truck tuned a notch up from stock just because i would like to keep EGTs down low. Any advice is appreciated Thanks.

Im not sure how hard it is to remove the gh. Havnt deleted that yet. Wouldnt hurt to do the air boss. But if u did you would want there relocated heater with the temps you run in.

Per GDP the grid heat cuts down on the air flow to the 5-6 cylinder, plus it gets all clogged with soot. Upgrading to the grid heater delete opens up the air flow along with an air intake horn. To the OP if you are going to do the heater relocate (which is what I`m going to being from Indiana) then you could just gut the TV for now and save the money on the delete, if you already have the delete sell it off new, or talk to the peolpe you bought it from and work out a return when you buy the other parts. I have just done the egr/cooler delete and once it warms uo I`m going with the grid heater delete, intake horn , heater relocate, and upgrading the boost tubes . The 6.7 should breath alot better after that!!
