New to 24 valves. Needing advice
Alright guys, I've got a question on the 24 valves and the way they run if you was to take off a programmer from the previous owner. I'm a 12 valve guy normally but I sold my old 12 valve and went back to GM gas motors when diesel got really high. (Worst mistake I've ever made) but now I have to suffice to getting a 24 valve due to the bank standards. But anyways, I'm looking at a 24 valve 5 speed with a edge juice w/ attitude and my little brother being a new generation diesel guy and knowing about programmers and efi live since he's a dmax guy and never messed with mechanical injection he told me that if I was to buy this truck and take the programmer off it wouldn't run right again and it would damage the motor. And the motor only has 153k on the clock. So you would think it wouldn't right? I don't really know on the newer style of pumps and stuff so I'm needing help and knowing what to expect. I just know the internals are the same as a 12 valve. And it's not a 53 block. Thanks in advance

Jet a fuel is right the PCM will set back to factory the juice only programs the pump and PCM when it's hooked up now some of the older programers like a super chips programer I have you program the truck and then unplug it and your truck is programed edge just plugs in to your data connector and programs the PCM that way
I think that's how it work that's how it was explained to me but I do know of 3 guys that have takin their programers of with no harm to the truck
