Default Airdog customer service problem

About a month ago I recomended an AirDog fuel pump to a friend of mine that has a 2010 Dodge 2500 because I thought they had great customer service. After today those thoughts went out the window. A few days ago he was just idling through a parking lot and his truck died and was hard to start, but did start. We looked at the truck yesterday evening to see what we could find. The fuse on the airdog wiring harness was blown, so we put another one in and tried to turn the pump on and it blew right away. I then took the front cover off the pump and found that the pump gear was stuck. I eventually got it out and discovered a metal shaving in there. I tested the pump without the gears in it and the AirDog motor was loud. We called AirDog today and explained everything to one of the techs and he told us it would not be covered under warrenty. He said the metal shavings had to come from the tank. I told him there is no way for metal shavings to get from the tank to the pump gear because the fuel passes throught the water seperator/prefilter first then to the pump gear and out through the other filter according to the diagram i attached. It even says on the diagram "contaminated fuel from tank" where the fuel enters the AirDog unit. So even if the fuel was contaminated with metal shavings(which i don't even know where they wouldv'e came from) the prefilter should have caught it. I expected better than this from a company I have heard so many good things about. If this issue is not addressed the way it should be I will never buy another product from them.

Looked at the AirDog unit a little closer today and discovered that there is no wire screen behind the water seperator nipple(what the water seperator screws onto). According to pictures and the install manual there shouldv'e been one there. I now my AirDog 150 has one and another AirDog II 165 that I installed had one.
