Duramax Owner needing Cummins Lube Info.
Hey Guys ... I was recently talking with my retired neighbor about how I just changed my front/rear differential and transfer case fluids with Amsoil synthetics. He was pretty interested because he just got an outrageous quote from the stealership to drain and fill his front/rear differentials ... over 4X what I paid for the Amsoil products.
Anyways, I volunteered to help him change out his and suggested going full-synthetics. What I'd like to know is what you guys suggest in Amsoil grades and the drain/fill quantities for the front & rear differential, the transmission, and the transfer case.
Here's his trucks specs:
2008 Dodge Cummins 4X4 SRW 3500
with the Allison 6-spd. manual trans.
Mileage: approx. 37K
Also, since I'm not real familiar with the Dodge Cummins brand ... are their any special tools; hints & tricks that would help me help him?
Thanks guys!

If he wants Amsoil products - we have an Sponsor thats an Amsoil dealer - his nam is Heath. He will give you the best info and he has his own forum.
Ask here: Amsoil - Diesel Bombers
No special tools should be required other than a strap type oil filter wrench.
This is for older trucks but it should help you a bit on the oil change:
Oil & Filter Change on Ram/Cummins
Nice of you to help him out
