Low Tire Idiot Light
there is an antenna in each fenderwell and each tire has a sensor which is incorporated into the valve stem. the valve stem sensors do have batteries in them so it is possible to have a dead battery in sensor
I've only got 13K on the truck... and it's an 08 I bought in January.... the things go dead that quick?
If that's the case, then I'm going to ignore the POS light, and just do like I have with every other truckl I've owned and just check the tires every time I get fuel.
Stupid government mandated bullshit. Damn stuff isn't worth a crap.

Possibly? It depends on how long the truck sat before it was sold or it could be a bad battery from the get go. Unfortunetly the only way you can tell which one it is, is with a scan tool.
This is one of those safety features that was designed for vehicles in California or Hawaii. In a part of the world like ours, where the temperature range is -40 C to +35 C the damned sensors are more of a hazard than a safety feature. This time of the year they will come on in the morning, go off around mid day and come back on late in the afternoon.
I'm going to take the dash apart on my '08 company Caravan to see if I can disable the TPM by pulling the light bulb or unplugging the connector If it works on that vehicle, my wife's '08 Jeep is next. My truck is an 07, so I escaped the problem, there.

Well, I had yesterday off, and spent about 3 hours trying different pressures, and the god damn light never went off, here's what I tried:
70 psi in all 4, no dice
50 psi in all 4, nothing again
60 spi in the fronts, 45 in the rears, nothing again. (this is what the tag in the door says, how can THIS NOT WORK !?!?!?!?!?)
60 in all 4, checked the spare, which doesn't have the same type of valvestem on it so I would think there's nothing in that tire, it was at 50, so I pumped it up to 60, so all 5 tires had 60 in them... nothing, no change.
I'm done with these damn things, and that light, like the one in my wife's car, is just something that tells me the key is in the ignition and in the on position now... and nothing more.
Stupid government, POS dodge wheel sensors.

It was the batteries.
I went and got new batt's put in them today, problem solved. How often is this going to have to be done, becuase this seems somewhat of a pita to have to do on a regular basis....
