How to install 2012 6.7 cummins smoke switch
#11
I finally talked to a man at North Texas Diesel Performance in Lewisville Tx, and he told me that dodge reconfigured how the map sensor works and thus eliminated the effects of the smoke switch. This started on the 2010 and up, if I find another way I will post the results.

From reading other threads a smoke switch is when you end up jumping two of the wires with a switch and a resistor and what to the best of my knowledge it does is fool the computer to think its under load and dumps fuel into the motor and makes that lovely black smoke we all love

I did it just like on the my 08 two wire running from the map sensor to a switch one to one side of the switch and one to the other then with a 100om 10 watt resistor in the mix use the same setup as this https://www.dieselbombers.com/6-7l-p...tch-6-7-a.html it works for mine DO NOT USE ON STOCK TRUCKS if you disrespect this info and use it in a town or on other car you disrespect all owners of diesel

MAP sensor. Splice into red/yellow striped wire. And splice into brown wire. Add single pole switch. Walla! You can use 100 ohm resister to avoid codes, however you won't see much smoke. MAP sensor is on throttle body. FYI if your dodge is not deleted this could be bad. If you do not have ARP head studs it could be bad. If you do not have an egt sensor it could be bad. Good luck!
