Default how to swap to a reg. turbo on 2008 6.7

i just bought my first diesel its a 2008 dodge 3500 manual tranny, drw, already has the egr and dpf delete i didnt know they are variable veine geometry turbo and they seem to suck already as soon as it starts making power it changes and cuts boost down it was h&s tuned but doesnt blow but a small amount of smoke when i hammer on it and its only there for a fractions of a second could some one tell me what hp setting i'm on or do h&s not smoke much on high tunes? the tuner didnt come with it so i will have to buy a new one when you go to a higher setting with h&s does it modify the turbo to keep boost? what does it take to swap to a regular turbo? and i just assume they are better but are they?

To swap to a normal turbo you will need to get a 03-07 exhaust manifold, a t3 flanged turbo like a silver 66, coolant block off plugs, and thats about it. And update to the latest software for H&S

Yea i understand that smoke means unburt fuel wich is a waste i would just like to havr a smokr and lope style tune for the people around here because thats the thing it aint bad *** if it dont smoke and i like to look at it every nkw and then. And thanks for the info that seems to be a pretty simple swap i just dont like the T3 idea which im no engineer but seems like a T4 would be better for a daily driver withfuel economy a big plus

Plus i would like some real turbo wistle its hard to get it out of these cummins i figure that variable geometry doesnt help any

If it dont smoke its lame? Thats what VGT's are suppose to do reduce smoke by boosting quicker. Sounds like you need a walmart bag and a couple minutes putting it over your intake
