What can I do to improve fuel mileage in my 08'/450/6.4/2wd? I do "a lot" of towing and weigh around 25,000lbs, truck/trailer. Any suggestions?
Thank you

25,000 miles. I would say the dealer is 15 miles away(not sure if friendly towards mods). I've been having issues with the truck and would like to just get out of it at this time. But if there are modifications that can "open" this thing up to perform better and stay in AZ emission guidelines, I'm all for it.

Fuel filters are glogging constantly, some surging/loss of power(I think fuel filter related), low fuel mileage, and Regen is always on.
Truck just went to the dealer today and spoke to a mechanic who is not happy about his 450 also(fuel mileage related). I mean c'mon, when your own employees aren't happy with your product.........
I would like to do the Delete Kit/Spartan Kit combo and hope my fuel troubles go away. Truck is used for my business and is costing me $300 more a month in fuel then if I was getting at least 10mpg. Comparing my 5mpg right now to a hypothetical 10mpg.
IMO, 2003 was the last year Ford made a "TRUCK."

Thanks to all for your help.
I ended up going with the Spartan Diesel Technologies custom programs for the DashDaq unit and the DPF Delete kit. This has worked out great. The DashDaq has much more flexibility than the Bully Dog. My truck never goes into re-gen mode now so my mileage has increased. I did the 75hp, 150hp and 210hp for the 3 tunes. I towed my 15,500lb 5th wheel throught the mountains of PA and over into Ohio using the 150 hp tune for the last week and got 11 MPG. I was getting about 8 MPG with the Bully Dog setup whith the stock DPF. My truck has a 411 rear end and iit never grabbed a gear when pulling the grades. I was getting upwards of 45psi Boost Pressure which was better than stock. I have a dully and if I dial in the 210 hp tune I can get a 2 gear burnout on dry pavement. Not to bad.
The extra power is there when you go with this system. I would highly recommend it.
The Bully Dog was a huge waste of money, a big disappointment and certainly not designed for vehicles with DPF setups.

Tom, how much is that kit that you bought? Did you do anything else to achieve the 11mpg besides the kit?
Thanks!

Located in AZ. I'm going to try and stick it out with this truck and hopefully with the Spartan Kit I can achieve some decent MPG.
