I was looking at the new livewire touch screen tuners from SCT, but they only have them in the "epa-friendly" versions (non-dpf delete versions). If I was planning on getting custom tuning from IDP or Gearhead, can I get a custom DPF delete tune on one of these non-dpf delete versions. Or am I stuck with the older 9625OR or 8900OR tuners for dpf delete tunes. And are the custom tunes capable of shutting off EGR completely without deleting the coolers or using blanking plates? I have an 08 F450 I just bought that likes to regen around every 100 miles with my shorter trips around the farm.

I did a little more reading up, and it appears they used to offer an ORTune, which would reflash any on-road tuner into and off-road tuner. Is this something that could be done with the new tuners if a dealer still has the ORTune file? I would like to get a new 5015 livewire touch screen, but they never made the off-road version. Is it possible to update this tuner to an off-road tuner with the old ORTune file?

I was told by my tuner that the device had to be able to delete the dpf from the start. What state are you from? That way you might be able to just get the tunner from a local shop.

 

I'm from Kentucky. I guess I'm pretty much stuck with either the 9625OR livewire or 3015R SCT programmer. I wish the new 5015 Livewire touch screen was available in an off-road version, that would be the best of both worlds . I was hoping there was a way to reflash an "on-road" tuner to be off-road.
