I'll give him the measurements of yours and see where I could fit it on mine. we're going thru this same thing, no room for the fuggin thing.
actually, that is shorter than the ram intercooler. . .

there is no way a guy could run it in the fender above the splash guard eh? the stock intake is in there, I'm sure with some cutting you could plumb it in and get enough air to it.
Just a crazy idea I came up with in about 3 seconds. probably wouldn't work but it's an empty space. probably not a big enough empty space either.

blarg, lots of useless ideas. no good ones.
there isnt much room anywhere with that big of an intercooler. thanks for the ideas though. well i took it to a radiator shop (horrible experience by the way) and had them move the inlet/outlets to the bottom so it would fit between the radiator and the ac junk. my original plan was to just do away with the ac all together but the wife wasnt thrilled about that seein how we take the truck on long road trips. im going to mount the intercooler after i finish putting the heads and front accessories back on. ill take pictures of what i end up doing. its probably going to end up running off the top of the motor, down in front where the fan used to be and do a quick 90 back up through the core support to the intercooler.

sounds interesting indeed.
i knew that idea would get a laugh and a smile from someone. told it to the guy with the daytona, his comment was "hell, get 2 small ones, and run one in each fender!"

rad shop sucked er what?

if your not running a factory fan really watch the engine temp. 6.5L engines fail real easy due to overtemp try to keep it as close to 195 as possible. maybe you could modify the core support & grille enough to allow the mounting of the inner cooler w/your a/c condensor still in front - you half to have it in front or the a/c won't cool as good - hence the wife won't be happy. i seen were an aftermarket ineer cooler was mounted above the engine & if you used a working hood scoop it would get you enough air flow for cooling - just an idea

That rad shop....... 3 weeks. 5 trips up there to try and pick it up the first time but i never seemed to be done. then another week and 3 trips back and forth because i found a huge hole. he lied and said he pressure checked it but he didnt. Oh and i liked the running two small ones idea, i dont know how well that would work with restriction and cooling but ya

I hard mounted it when i first got the inercooler out in front of the ac condenser but i scrapped the idea because of the where the in/outlets were but depending on space i may end up putting it up there again instead of in the stack up. Im running two 16in puller fans and i took off the fan shroud. It runs between 180 and 200 depending on outside temp. Im going to throw in a 160 thermostat when i get my chip and may end up doing the dual themostat and better fans if i cant keep the temps down. I looked at doin a top mount but the ic i have wouldve went from brake booster to coolant tank i couldve just bought another one but i wanted a big ic so i could get as much intake air cooling as possible. Ive got the next couple days off so hopefully i can make some headway on it.

the company red line has a coolant additive called water weter that helps the coolant work better as much as 5 to 10 degrees cooler. maybe fit the ic between the engine & the radiator beings you have removed the fan shroud & fan assm.

That would be very easy to do but putting the ic there would probably make it inefficient since it would be getting hot air from the radiator as opposed to cool air if it was mounted in front of it. I use watter wetter in my bike. Never really thought about it for the truck but thats a good idea.

maybe add a lower air scoop that would direct air up into the ic for more air flow & if you haven't had the radiator out for a while - take it out & power wash the fins out. you'll be surprised how much crap will be coming out & while its out use a blow gun to blow the condensor out from the back side. add a piece of screen in front of the condensor & it will keep them clean

Gm used that set up with the trans am, use a scoop to avert air flow so they could fit a bigger radiator. I had planned on cleaning the crap out of everything when i take the radiator off. I still gotta finish putting the motor back together before i start on that. Why couldnt chevy just put an ic on from the factory, it sure wouldve simplified things. Then again they probably couldnt find a place to fit it.

if they would have done that you wouldn't have the fun of designing your own system that makes your vehicle work better than factory & that good feeling of accomplishment you get when you are about to show what you have done

That's very true. If the auto manufactures made everything right the first time I wouldn't have anything to modify.
