Just to make sure i am understanding this correct you have to return the truck to stock tune as far as the SCT tunes are concerned before loading the FICM tune into the truck?

that's what the IDP instructions said. Well, that and pull the FICM relay before flashing the FICM.

I only had 92 miles on the truck before I needed to top off for this road trip. ROUGH initial estimates look like 13.5 in town. Keep in mind that I had to add two stroke oil to 2 consecutive fill ups to get 13.6 back in February. This was also a VERY rough estimate with only 92 miles on the clock.

Stay tuned, I'll be doing a 6 hour run to Vegas and I'll have more numbers there. Then another 6 hours into Phx.

Alrighty, I made it to AZ and have MPG numbers. First, I dumped #3 injector 275 miles from home and changed it at a Motel 6 after I got a new one delivered and back on the road (yes, my friends are THAT cool!). We rolled on into Vegas at about 13.5 mpg, topped off and headed to PHX. This morning I re-Harpooned it and came up with 16.5. Now keep in mind I have a 4" lift, 35s, put the shell back on, packed Momma, Jr, both dogs, tools, and whatever other junk you take for a week away from home. I've seen 16.5 with JUST my fat bumm and a gym bag on the highway before the FICM tuner. We'll see how the programming adapts.

The truck is paid for, I think it's time to quit sweating mileage. Thanks for playing along, if anything changes, I'll let you know.

Good to hear Karl. I'd be happy with 16.5mpg... NICE!

You're probably right, Mike. While I was hoping for an MPG improvement, the reduction in smoke and increased throttle response were worth the costs.

Exactly, any MPG is just added bonus.
