For a reliable, consistent DRIVEABLE/WORKABLE truck,(not a dyno-queen shop truck) 450 rwhp you need big sticks and big air. That is why I recommended 6x18's. They work great with the turbo setup I recommended

we were 419HP on the dyno with our 1990 2wd 5 speed and did it for less than 2k

Impressive. Care to share your setup on this truck?

You need a top turbo. You could do a S300/HT3B, S300/S400, HX35/S400, HX35/HT3B, etc. I have even seen people put a big charger under a stocker H1C.

a 300 over HT3B will not be able to cool 6X0.18's to its full capabilities

and on the street for a good DD truck 5X0.14's is all you need I have had guys that wanted 16's 18's even 20's SO bad and we tryed to talk them out of them but they just had to have them all but one guy out of 7 have called back and bought a set of 14's the other guy went sole puller and he likes them and there only 16's

if you want a hot smokey injector get 18's or bigger unless you really get pumping the fuel and the air you will be real unhappy with them

Is this truck a manual or an auto? I've seen manual first gens dyno 400+ whp on a single S300.

This is very good advice. 18s are not for anything I consider a street truck. On a daily driver you will make cleaner more usable power with a smaller injector. Big sticks require ALOT of supporting mods to be used to the potential they are made for. The least of which h being more air then suggested in here.
