Default ahh the sound of Timing

What is the sound of too much timing on the VE pump?

after my 366 spring, fuel pin, and AFC tweaks still running 16psi of boost prolly a leak)
I decided to bump up the timing a bit.. since it sounded really smooth and quiet after all that work, so I spun the pump a bit.. mark looks about the same on the timing case but I can tell by where the bolts were the pump definitely rotated more to the head. was going for 1/8" but i'm wondering if it didn't go closer to 1/4"

anyways, it's much louder now, and has that distinct diesel rattle to it, almost powerstrokey but not quite. just curious if maybe I went too far and what the signs would be.

EGT is a bit lower, boost is about the same but a lot less smoke, and gained my missing low end power back, plus a little on the top end.

i'll post a sound clip later if that would help. or you can kinda hear it in this vid.

Is it warm in that video? Its hard to tell from the crappy sound on this laptop but it sounds likr you might have just a tad to much. Can you hear what sounds like bolts banging around in the cyl? If not your probably OK. Dont tow with that much though.

it rattles a bit more than it did. I lugged it once and it actually sounds a bit smoother than before. can't say it sounds like bolts rattling around but cold like in the video its a lot more noticeable, after warm not bad. dunno what coming apart or bols in the cy
l sounds like never been that lucky uhm....... sounds half as bad as a cold chevy 6.5 haha man those are clanky.

When it starts sounding like a 6.5 you have gone to far.

Thats kinda what I've heard, only using a powerstroke for comparison. I figured I would use the 6.5 to compare since i've heard a lot more of those than powerstrokes.. the only powerstroke I really hear is the kid that revs his up everytime he drives by the house. I guess since he has a tuner he has the right to be annoying .

anyways, 440ctd the ride we took after doing it you really couldn't tell, NOW you can tell after I drove it for a bit. oh, and I swapped out the busted cab light too
