Default hx-35 swap

What all do you need to swap a hx-35 on a 1st gen with a h1c? I want to wait to get a 4" downpipe till i find a 35 to swap on it. Thanks

yea kinda sorta, if its not intercooled u have to make ur own pipes to fit over the motor. here is how i did it:

And make sure to get high pressure clamps, i found out hose clamps dont work over 30PSI.

The swap will be bolt on for your application, 92 intercooled. Just get an hx-35 from a 12 valve truck, that way it will bolt directly to your downpipe also.

And for the non-intercooled crowd, there are easier ways to do it. This is an hx-35/40 with a 12cm wastegated housing on my 89...

I got a hx-35 from a 01' sorry. It has that factory exhaust elbow flange thing that is bolted on. Is it hard to find a 12 valve exhaust flange to replace it?
And what kind of hose do i need to replace the line from the wastegate actuator to the compressor housing?

The turbo should bolt up fine, other than the downpipe. I take it that you plan on running the 12cm wastegated housing?

vaccum line or fuel line should work fine for the wastegate actuator.

Default about the hx35 first gen "bolt up"!

k for all you that are saying the hx35 bolts rite up to the 12 valve, i dont know about the intercooled first gens or anything other then a 90, but anyway just for a heads up for anyone tryin this, it does not bolt up!!!! i found out the hard way, if your wanting to use the waist gate, well go buy alot of inter cooler pipe some 90's a couple boots, um i had to go to 3 or 4 parts places to get a flat face oil line cross over to go to the oil filter housing, um your gonna need to go dumpster jumpin at muffler shops to find an hx35 down pipe. it will match up with your stock exhaust with a one foot piece of ss flex pipe under neath the truck. um what else, your gonna need to wrap the down pipe with heat wrap, its very close to your ac box on the fire wall and you need to bend you at tranny dipstick thing out the way, any way i just want to say, it would have been way easyer to just put the backing plate housing and pin wheel on the stocker exducer housing. its just that every one even NADP told me ya just bolt up and go. not,,, even,,,,close! we needed to drink lots of beer during this job.
