That's what I'm talking about - if you mean replacing the KDP, not adding a bolt on top of it like that externally-done jig thingy. Remove the KDP (if it hasn't already fell out) and replace it by loctiting in a fine pitch-threaded allen head bolt of appropriate size/length. And then peening that in. That sucka ain't going nowhere. Just gotta make your own KDP replacement bolt and tap the case/block.

That whole idea might be making it more complicated than it needs to be. But it would be the best way to do it and guarantee never having to worry about it again. That's what I don't like about the tabs - just another piece of metal waiting to come loose in there again someday.

Im with nadirpoint im gonna start tapping the hole and loctite and peening an allen. its foolproof and would look better that a metal tab even though its unseen. and ive used red loctite on lots of stuff from body lifts to problematic motor mounts, and trust me it aint like irreversible glue, besides thats its purpose to keep stuff from coming out unless its forced. the only reason the cover needs to come off is to put a cam in or crank in. Ive installed 4 cams and 2 cranks and im sure if the bolt did get stuck i wouldnt have a prob drilling the bolt and retapping the block

GM also makes a sealant for their duramax injector bores that works great as well!
