i wouldnt go gearvenders bud they make some cool stuff but they break under some horsies plus you got alot in mods for driveshaft and i think transfer case

if i were you i would go to the junkyard or ebay find an od tranny without a lockup converter and build it,that eliminates your truck being down and saves you a ton of money.i ripped mine out sent it out and got the tranny rebuilt with all new hd clutches and steels shift kit and hd lock up converter with a lower stall for better response and more usable torque

i even thought about convertn my truck into a 5spd manual but just parts alone were 3600 bucks

yup i have the a518 which uses the 727 tranny and the od which is the tailshaft makes it th a518. its the 4 spd

Very nice, from what I hear, the 727 is tough. Mine seems together, just geared to low

just tryin to give you some helpful hints and save you some money.dont get me wrong its a bitchin concept and youll get excellent mileage but damn that is a chance to take if you decide to wake that motor up and put injectors housing or all of the good stuff. you might say bye bye to that tranny

i know the 727 is tough but i guarntee that you will blow it up unless you do the mods to it. trust me on that one i did.you need to have the baskets drilled out and they do some grinding on the inside.to make it flow more oil and give the converter more lube.
