Which Setup
the turbo timer lets the truck idle until the EGT's get to a preset level. it's real helpful if you tow real heavy as it'll allow the turbo to cool down and won't allow the oil to cook the turbo shaft and what not.....
I've been thinking about a timer. My biggest problem is when dropping the kids off at summer camp, I can't let it run in the parking lot. So I sit and sit and sit.
Usually, if I'm just running into the store for lottery tickets, smokes or coffee, I'll lock the truck and let it run.

I don't even think about it anymore. I just turn the key off, lock the doors and walk away. If it's below 350 degrees then it shuts off with the key and if it's above it idles on it's own until it hits 349. You can also set it for time by minutes if you like instead.
Whatever you decide for power is up to you but i personally like my commander alot. It monitors everything including oil temp and fuel pressure - added expense for the sender unit - which a buddy of mine actually has a Quadzilla 40 psi pressure sender unit for sale here on the site.
Anyway, i like the commander and can't comment on the edge other than to say they are WAY too dang pricey.

you might want to check on the edge....i dont think that you will be able to do the hot juice without the attitude monitor....in fact i dont think that you will even be able to use all 5 levels on the juice without it, so that is just one thing to consider...i dont even know that the juice would hook up to the commander
personally i've got the hot juice w/attitude on my truck and my girlfriend has the regular juice with attitude on hers and we both love them

well. To be a little different. I went with a quad race box. a guy on DTR sold me one for $225. I couldn't resist. I am also going to get the commander from a vendor on here so for $550 I'll have a $800 setup.
now there was some reasons why I made this decision.
1. I see the quadzilla guy on the forums and pretty active. so if there is a problem its taken care of if there is one.
2. from what I've read quadzillas customer service is great.
3. I call edge to see what the serial number break was for the turbo timer and it was given to me and told me that if it was pre turbo timer it could be installed on the module for $75.
Well i called back 4 hours later to get the date of manufacer for the break off and was told there wasn't one. So I asked the guy to double check and he said he was pretty sure that there wasnt a serial number break. I asked again and he looked it up and there was. he said he didnt have a date though. he then said thats its $50 if I want to get it installed.
I decided to call again hoping to get a seasoned technician and that guy knew what he was talking about for a minute and lost me when he said give me your email and I will send you the software update for your juice box. I told him that I was pretty sure I had to send it in he didn't want to believe me but checked anyway and then came back on and said that it was $60 to get the turbo timer installed.
Im sorry but there shouldn't be that many discrepancies on a customer service cal line
4. The last reason is that I haven't seen or heard of any complaints with quad setups.
