Air Intake Mistake?

Air Intake Mistake?
From what Ive read AFE seems to be the preferred intake system. I have a volant which seems to opperate fine but if there is something better for $30 more, why dont I just sell my volant and buy an AFE? Does the intake you buy really make a difference and should I even worry about getting an AFE because mine is fine?
