wyatt, im not all about the smoke, i just want to make sure the comp box is working as it should and that theres nothing wrong with it or my truck. It seems like it should smoke more than it does

My pump wire connection was poor and sometimes I felt the motor was surging so I soldered the wire and insulated it with liquid tape.
When are you going to install the big exhaust?

hell. mine smokes all the time. on throttle. off throttle. 5x5
4x1 , 3.2 . iff i lug it it will fog the whole freeway. i heard of some problems if you go from 4x1 to 5x5 not getting all the power its supposed to. try using 4x2 etc. to see if this problem still occours. also search for more on this subject. it was popular about 8 months ago.

Zach,
As far as the smoke not being there, we do not do any testing on anybody elses product only ours. so we really don't know why you will have these results. but do you feel the power? does it feel like 100 extra hp or not even close? if you have a giant exhaust I wouldn't expect to see a lot of smoke (5 inch or bigger, dual exhaust too). An engine light will not make a truck run like that. if you have an engine light on that means there is a fault in the system and that's why there is a code not the other way around. what I would suggest would be to send the unit into us and we can test it and repair something if there is a problem.
Thanks
GW

Subject: Comp questions

Hello, I have an Edge Comp that I bought used from a friend of mine who is goin with the new Quadzilla Adrenaline. After the initial hook up I was only in EZ mode for about a month or month and a half and I got what id call....decent smoke. Anyway, just this last week, I installed a BD Stealth Plate and set the Comp box on 5x5. I get no smoke until about 1500 RPM or around 5 lbs of boost. Even then it starts out as a haze then I get a small cloud and it hazes back out when the turbo lights. Shouldnt I be getting pretty stout smoke at a low RPM with little to no boost? Ive actually tried lugging the truck in 6th gear at about 20 MPH and my exhaust is staying clean until it starts to boost and gain RPM. I do know after installing the VP Plate to tap the wire, I had unhooked the Throttle control unit right above the plate and the battery went down over night from leaving the hood open. When I went to start it the next morning (still under its own power, just a very slow first crank) I got a check engine light and a P0122 (apps sensor voltage) code. Would not have restting the APPS be causing my smoke issue or is my Comp like stuck on a low sub level. Also, what checks or things can iI try to and solve this problem.

Thanks
Zach Hall

Yesterday I took out my tst pm3 and hooked the drag comp back up. I'll tell you this thing will smoke!!! Easy. I tried 5x5 and blacked out the road. Then I tried all the way down to 2x2 and could still get some good smoke when I hammered it. I also have a big set of sticks and the smarty. But then I tried it on stock ecm setting and comp on 5x5 and still got a ton of smoke. I would be checking all your connections or maybe something is wrong with the box itself. Or as much as I hate to say maybe you have a weak inj. pump. I know you have the fass but it's still possible

yeah, its very possible, when i hooked up my FP gauge my pressure was at 2 PSI @ idle.....however, i dont get any surging or dead pedal so idk. It also prolly helps a lot that your runnin 100 hp over stock injectors. Theres a guy here with stacks and an EZ with 80 hp injectors and he smokes like crazy. so a lot of it is your injectors too.

Wait a sec..... your only getting 2PSI of Fuel Pressure at Idle? Theres your problem. With that FASS you should be seeing aroung 17 at idle.

Houston we found the Problem!!!!

wow I second that!!! 2 psi is not near enough. you need to see a min. of 10-12 @wot. some would say a little less a little more but definitely more than 2 psi. I see 17 @idle and about 13-14 wot

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Even without the injectors you should smoke like a freight train with a stock turbo on 5x5 because it is dumping 100% fuel at no boost

Thats kinda what i was thinking, with the full fueling off idle. So do you think its the box causing this or my truck causing this?
