Not saying your wrong but ive never heard that one before. ive alwys heard explained that Oringing is cutting a grove in the head and installing and stainless steel wire that slightly protrdes from the grove that presses on the firering in an unmolested head gasket for a tighter seal.

o ring is a grove cut into the head with wire installed protruding just a little and uses a factory head gasket fire ring is cut both into block and head and uses a special gasket. my o ringed head has been done 3 years now held 85 psi of boost 2 seasons of racing.
