Hi gang,
I bought a Carter 4601HP from Summit, extended the wiring and put it on the frame in front of the fuel tank in Sept.'04 and it still makes 15psi idle and 9.5 to 10 psi WOT with Eric's Big Line kit...I've still got no reason to change to anything different.

If you do decide to go the Holley route their is a company on ebay that sells pump that are exact duplicates of Holley's just his generic name brand for half the price. All the internal are the same and even uses the same parts for repair.

I've still been made a believer in this belt drive pump pump though.

But, people want them, so what do you do?

So who would want to buy a fuel pump thats not ever guaranteed to work out of the box???

No kidding!

In all fairness to the guys that build these pumps, they DO offer a warranty. But, they rarely warranty any pumps.

The warranty specifically states that if any dirt of grit is found in the pump, the warranty is void. The pump must be accompanied by a check to get the pump inspected.

If the warranty is denied, you lose the pump and the money. Period.

So, even though the manufacturer has a warranty, it's still a buyer beware situation. The vendors typically do not help out in any respect as to warranty issues, and that makes it even worse.

I think they are depending on guys to not jump through the warranty hoops, ect.

I have looked at bringing them into the line, but with the added cost of prefilter, a line kit, ect, most guys opt for one of the other popular lift pump fixes.

I've been running the Holley Blue with 1/2" line through the still running LP for 3.5 years now. I have 26psi idle and 20 WOT comp on 5x5.
