Yes, I am running stock factory injectors, and I didn't think it possible to boost over 40 psi in my current configuration. I was planning on installing 75 - 100 hp injectors, at a later date, but now I just don't know if I should. I've looked at head bolt studs and gaskets and most high performance parts are listed at a max boost of 60 psi. If I'm hitting 45 psi now what will 75 - 100 hp injectors take it up too???

Maybe I will contact Jeremy at Quadzilla and get his take on it.

On a different note... Will 75 - 100 hp injectors really increase fuel mileage??? Common sense dictates that increasing fuel volume / fuel flow will also increase fuel burn resulting in less mpg. So, all BS aside, has anyone actually gained fuel mileage with larger injectors, that is as long as they drive sanely???

if your planning on adding more and going to take the time to pull the head and put in a new gasket and studs you might as well o-ring the head. I went through 2 seasons of racing making 85psi with 0 issues. yes bigger injectors can increase your fuel mileage if you use the skinny pedal properly.

By O-ringing the head I assume you are referring to head gaskets such as the Fire Ring, correct???

Please educate me regarding O-ringing the head. Will it be necessary to have any machine work done to the head prior to O-ringing??? Or is it just a matter of installing new gaskets???

What brand of studs do you recommend; ARP, ATS, or what??? And what about injectors... any recommendations there as well???

Can you tell that I'm new at the "Diesel Performance Parts" game???

Thanks again for the comments and insights.

to fire ring one you have to have a groove cut around each cylinder for a metal ring to fit in that crushes against the block. to o-ring one you cut a ring in the block and use the stock gaskets. fire rings replace parts of the factory gasaket and the gaskets are modified some as to where an o-ring job places a ring under the factory gasket to just apply more clamp pressure on the gasket to keep it from leaking cylinder pressure. fire ringing a head is in my opinion much more effective and is proven to handle higher boost pressures than a o-ringed block.

i have glowshift and have had 0 issues and the have been tested over and over. i pulled autometers out of my truck because i was having so many issues with them. i was pulling them out and sending them back once every 3 months because they would mess up. i tried 3 different sets from autometer. z series cobalts ultra lites. the egt kept going out in the z's. and then i went to the lites with the same effect. then the cobalts i added a fp gauge and then with them it went to fp fails to egt wasnt even close to trans went out. i had nothing but problems with them. and for the cost and having the same warrenty as the autometer and being i havent had the first problems with them i would call them just as good as autometer. and i will not put anything in my truck i have not tested and made sure over and over its accurate. every company can release products that are off or defective but when you send something back for repairs and get it back and it still doesnt work, it doesnt inspire you to wanna continue to buy from them. and when you take a new product out of a box and 2 of 4 dont work kind of has that same effect.

o-ring is a grove only cut in the head. they work and are less of a mess than fire rings.
