Correct me if I am wrong, but nowhere in this thread is there boost mentioned. How much boost are you making? I've spiked 52PSI with my set up, on stock head bolts and a stock gasket.

Ya i made 50 psi on the stock bolts and gasket but wanted to avoid the head removal, so i did studs to be safe. The stock head gasket is actually pretty tough and i wouldnt mess with o rings unless it is absoutely needed. Get a set of studs and dont worry about o rings or fire rings until u HAVE to take the head off

RAWilliams,

truck is pushing around 40-45 psi

connermcpherson,

Thanks for the advice, after what i'm hearing maybe i'll just do the studs (if anything at all) That stupid freeze plug has me paranoid though....i know the injectors couldn't have been the main reason for it going, but its got my mind spinning...

If your paranoid, maybe put a new rad cap on. Maybe your current one isn't relieving at the proper pressure, as in too high.

Just a regular one, no need for anything special.
