Trans Dilemma
I am in a dilemma. I have an 01 4x4 2500 that I regularly tow 10k+ with. I want to put in a NV5600 to replace my BD 47re. But at around $5500-$6500 plus the time and effort required to modify everything. But for about $4000 and 2-3 hours of work I can install a Gear Vendors over/under drive which would essentially change my 4 speed to an 8 speed. I had great luck with Gear Vendors before in an 89 Chevy 6pack dually with a balanced and blue printed 454 and T400 trans built my Mike Vance to tow his top fuel dragster. Basically all I want is some realistic outside opinions on the pros and cons of both. Also I would love to hear from anyone that has a 47re that is running a GV O/U.

Sorry I am looking for easier towing. Having more gears in the western US with the mountain out here would be a lot easier on my truck and my pocket book because both would give me better mileage.
