thats true with stock cam and cam gears pump gears ect. but when you match up parts corectly with one of the monster pumps the power ranges will easily keep it up into the high 3k range. and if you throw a shot of nitrous on top it will pull even higher. mine doesnt fall off till about 4000 or so with out nitrous and nitrous adds about a 100 more rpm or so before you feel a drop on the track anyways. dyno numbers and graphs dont mean a whole lot to me, ive seen several cars and trucks as well put down some really impressive numbers that wouldnt fall out of a tree if you towed it. all that means anything is come race day, the one that finishes first. and the right setups will get you there. the whole reason for the 4K being devoloped was for use with the monster pumps and big cams. other than that its useless, it will add rpm but basically unusable power.

ya you can still get plenty out of the SO vp, but im chasing a hp record set by adam winslett.. so im trying to cram everything i can out of it. plus im wanting to try and have a vp powered truck capable of being competative in the quick diesel drag class. really high asperations i know but with the advancement in these new pumps i think the vps will make a come back in the hp numbers. at scheids diesel extrav last year i had to pop the hood so the scheid guys could see it was still a vp truck till they saw the pump they acussed me of having a p-pump swap.

thats what ive heard. but im shooting on a monster non nitrous number first. then im gonna get into some sort of elaborate nitrous setup im working on designing right now. but who knows i might just go back to my original plan of a reliable high horse daily driver setup. its getting to the point now where gaining 10 hp costs a grand or more. im already way over my original budget but its worse than any drug ive ever seen, i costantly want more. the only problem everyones finding now is the heads dont get enough air through them even ported. im kinda curious to see that the new aluminum 24v heads are gonna do might be an investment worth the 8 grand they are gonna cost.

while im posting, how do you like the lightning injectors. ive had several ppl ask about them but ive never installed a set or really had a chance to see a set up close. how do they run and how are they setup. ie how many holes and smoothness on and off the throttle and crusing.

Yeah I know about the drug of diesel's man. I said I was done when I went to my 62 and some 110hp ddp's. 2 years later I am not done because we have a baby on the way and need something to daily drive. I can't complain I made good power on an so pump fuel only.
The lightning III's are not for street driving. They smolder at an idle, they are fine running down the freeway, but if you get on it they smoke. They made 80hp more than any other injector I tried. I don't remember hole size or anything, but do know they do a lot of internal mods on them.
