Default Calling All Engine Builders

We need a list of parts and things to do, or prefferably a write up with pictures on a performance engine rebuild engine rebuild. What all does it take to build a good strong motor. Myself I am more interested in a mildly bombed 400-500 HP bullet proof version for starters then this could be elaborated on to include a pulling, or racing variations.

I'm lookin for a plan for the future when mine's gonna be ready for it and interested in knowing what parts and cost are involved. Might even find out it's cheaper to buy one already done.

if going belt drive, why not just use a CP3 or dual CP3's???

injection pump 2000
engine machining 1000
crank work 600
balancing 500
rods worked 300
pistons, anywhere from 400-2000 for a stock or custom set, its been a while since i priced them
roller cam 1500
adj cam gear 630 w/ exchange
roller tip rockers 2130 w/ new axles
elec water pump 500
belt driven lift pump 2000
engine stud kit 750
twin turbos 4000
injectors 1000
sodium filled intake valves 800
inconel exhaust valves 800

GRAND TOTAL OF $20,510

did i miss anything.........been a few months since i priced anything, add another 2000 onto that price for gaskets, seals, and minor stuff like that........22.5K is probably pretty close......oh and just think, i still didnt add in the 1400$ in tax for all that stuff.....

I'm here. There are a few places where the prices fluctuate a little but that's pretty close. I'd say custom twins $5000, Electric H2O Pump $289 on the nose, Fluidampr $400, Electrics Fans maybe?? $550, Performance intake horn $340. When I did the balancing is was $350 and I had my crank cut down .010 which added a little. A roller cam will bring some serious machine costs in for sure and then you have to buy the bearings so one could go crazy in the whole process.

a balanced and counterweighted crankshaft with polished journals will run you 2750 from Woodruff Diesel. i aint talked to Josh about it but im assuming thats a new crank, i aint sure.....

Something like what I did won't cost you much at all. I know I have under $6K and that's including buying new pistons and rods as well as a replacement for the Helix cam I had.
