Ive heard that the SO is better for a hi hp rig.

 

yes..... ho`s are for people who want to feel cooler driving off the lot!

 

The way I understand it is that the SO will out fuel the HO on the upper end. Just my little nugget of knowledge.

 

yes the SO is the better pump. If my HRVP ever goes bad I will go back to an SO pump. The HO's dont respond to mods as well from what I understand. I am not sure but I think you can put an SO pump on an HO truck but not positive.

 

The reports are that the HO is stronger for the 400hp and under trucks but fall on their face once you pass that point.

Dissclaimer: I have no personal experience with the HO pump, just repeating what has been hashed out in past postings.

 

So what makes an SO better? bigger vanes? or what?

 

My understanding is that the SO pump responds to a timing box better than the HO pump.
