HT3B vs s400 twins

350HP- 400HP usable is about right. Put a 64 on top and then they really start to shine.
Remember, many of us have actually ran multiple setups in the real world and not just on the track or at a dyno event. But pulling trailers at low speeds to cruise on the highway to up and over the passes.

For injectors I am running Vulcans. Way more economical and all the same power. In fact, my truck had a 3% opacity on the left pipe and a 5% on the right. Guess which pipe is shorter?
This was done with everything on KILL. But with a light foot.

This is my daily driver so I am not looking to get any more than 400hp out of my truck. What I would like to do is lower my current EGTs on a good grade and have a little more power out my truck while pulling a heavy load. I am in the Military and living in Southern California so I need to keep my upgrade in the affordable section. I do not have the ability to afford the $4k plus for the BD twins and the parts required to use them anytime in the next year or so. What would you suggest with my limits in place?
A single 62 sized charger with a 14cm housing will do what you want it to. A set of compounds does not really net you much until you are looking at 450+. Again, JMO.
But, as mentioned, the HX35 over S400 is the cheapest of the cheap. I would run a 14cm housing though. And it will be severely limited at RPMs climb. But, it will spool fast and cool those temps. You will not need a very big injector with this setup either.
But if it were me, I would buy a single that could be easily integrated into a set of towing twins later. Something like a 62/65-14 or 13SS. BTW, we all started out only wanting 400HP. Even after adding 250+ more to that, some of us are still looking for more.
Again, JMO.

This does not mean this will happen, just something I have observed on my own truck. That things has had more turbos than I care to remember.

Being that you are from Spokane, or the Highlands area, elevation will play a factor for you as well.
Again, it does not mean it will be an issue, just something to be aware of. If you have a manual truck, it'll behave much nicer. This is where a smaller turbine on the primary can greatly help spool.
