I considered doing one through the side a lot, but the pipe would be right at pedestrian face level which i'm sure is just asking for trouble.

When you do a hood stack, you mount the stack on the hood itself, so that when you open the hood, the stack lifts up with it...

Im in tampa, fl and have run mine for almost a year. Ive been pulled over twice for unrelated issues and niether cop said a word about the hood stack. However the law states that exhaust must exit to the rear of the cab.

Theres NO drone inside the cab like a bed stack so its not as loud and way cooler!

I have a hard time believing there is "NO" drone. And again, the "cool" factor???? Isn't it more of a "hey, look at me" factor??

I have a hood stack on my 92 the guy b4 me put it on there i do not much care for all the soot that goes on my passenger side door and window. My room on the passenger side it pure black and i just had it waxed like 2 weeks ago it is 5 inchs and sticks out about a foot. Also if you so happen to forget to put the stack condom on and it rains forget a nice looking cab and hood the black water goes everywhere and sucks to scrub off if i could find a guy to run my a lil weed burner under the cab wit 5 inch i would do it. It's cool but really not that great for everyday driving for me. Oh and forget rolling down the passenger side window on a hot day the hot air from the stack comes right in my window

Doesnt really matter what you "believe". I believe it would feel weird to have a vagina but I dont have one so I dont know for sure.

Its quieter than bed stack especially with the windows up and NO drone! Find someone cool enough to run one and youll see for yourself.

Until then stfu!

im a inspector here in texas and its really up to the discression of the inspector. the dps instructor i asked about hood stacks had no idea what i was talking about. i ran to my truck and showed him a diesel power magazine and said he would pass it as long as its about 3/4 of the way up the windshield. the other instructor said he would fail it. either way, they both said it still has to have a cat and muffler. i bet they dont know alot of trucks never came with them though.
