Default Air Dog 150 starting issues?

Hey everyone. Well, yesterday I installed my Air Dog 150 and came to a point where I am scratching my head. I turn the key on, not crank, and the Air Dog turned the motor for a split second and then wasn't turning/ pumping any more. I read in the instructions to bump the starter so the computer will read the Dog. I did that and it was fine. But, after that initial start, and the 4 starts I have done since then, I still have to bump the starter to get it start constantly flowing. Is there something I missed or a step I should take to correct this? My buddy has it on his Duramax and his turns on right away without bumping. Thanks everyone.

It should turn on for a second or 2 or 3 to "prime" the system, then once you crank the motor the airdog will then turn back on and continue to run like normal. That is the way the factory wiring is designed, the reasoning behind it I assume is people that turn the key to the ON position but don't crank the motor and they listen to the radio, this will eliminate the pump from constantly running.

If there is an issue with it not working off the factory wiring then hook it up to an independent circuit to where it comes on with the key and only cuts off with the key....

have you tried to crank the truck up without bumping the key? just go to crank it up like normal and see what happens. it should function perfectly if everything is connected correctly.

If you bump the starter for a quick second you will get a 26 second prime out of the pump. That should be enough to get her purged out. How did the install go? Didn't get mine in yet... Sigh! Still sitting there staring at me!

Cant wait to see... Interested in how you mounted the Air Dog on there.

Well... Got my lazy **** off the couch and put mine on... Had the same starting issue... LoL. Must drained the VP completely! Had to crack 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th injectors. Crank and crank, stumbled... tightened injectors and it fired right up.

Ill get some pics up too... I had to get creative to mount mine.... Putting it on the outside of the frame was a pain. If its too high it hits the motor of the pump on the body rail.

Totally bottoms my gauge out at 15psi. Even @ wot and max tune on the ADR.

Where I mounted mine was a snug fit on the outside of the frame.
