yea thats all it does. and it whistles when you get on it AND while your cruising. it does nothing to the performance but it sounds great none the less.

So this ring is not any type of bearing or alignment piece. In other words the turbo is going to blow apart early because the piece is missing?? Might be dumb question just don't want to do any damage to my 02

Not on the HX 35 but the new VGT's will come apart if you remove that ring

That makes sense it was a guy with fairly new truck warning me not to do it, but I'm all about the whistle and it seems like a easy upgrade. My auto truck has HX 35 I take it? read somewhere on here bout HX 40
