Wow, this is interesting. If you read the claims on the Banks unit it seems like you'd get some SOP difference:

High-Ram Intake increases Power by eliminating the restriction that the stock manifold causes. You will enjoy faster turbo spool up as well as quicker acceleration and better fuel economy with this product.

Anyone out there use this specific elbow?

Banks said the same thing about the 2nd gen manifold and it was for sure a false claim. As for that one, I cant say much for it on dyno numbers or the SOP meter, but I did witness one crack when over-torqued. The customer brought it in with chunks in the intake it's self.

On my 01 Cummins, I was looking for an intake tube, but didnt want to pay the high price cuz Im cheap and dont have alotta cash. I found on Ebay a pusher intake tube. You can get them in a few different colors or plain. They dont look totally ghetto or great like a Banks or whatever but i was impressed with the performance. I paid like $119 unpainted, or its like $130 for a powercoated one. I had one problem with it and I hadda mount the dipstick under the intake tube instead of ontop where the bracket was cuz I broke the end of the dipstick off for the tube was too high but it duz clear the hood. For what its worth, it wasnt a bad deal. But who am I to say either. I went the cheap way and my truck isnt heavily modified either so its all personal preferance.

the elbows dont do crap on VP trucks from some reason. I like the idea of running one if i was going to be running nitrous/propane or water meth. the pre-drilled one are a great idea but these things shouldnt be more then 200 bucks. Heck, the 8.00 dollar boost elbow does more for spool up and EGTs then the intake kits.
