Intake Elbow.
I'm in the market for an intake elbow and i was wondering which one is the best. I've heard great things about the Banks High Ram Intake elbow, and was wondering if that was the best of if it's something else.

from everything I have read the after market air horn (elbow) is only good for the 3rd gens..........they dont do much for the 2nd gens.......but I have no personal experience with either:pca1:
|
Well the demonstrations i've seen with the stock elbow vs. banks is that the stock elbow has so much dead space in it where there is no air moving because of the sharp bends in it.
|
i run the afe did not notice any gain but i do like all the predrilled ports:U:

yea, not having to drill holes in your brand new parts would be nice. More manufactures should do that to their parts. Drilling into a brand new intake elbow or exhaust manifolds is pretty sucky.
|
yes it is

I have to ATS arc flow.Didn't notice a difference.Nice to have pre-drilled holes.I would base it on details that you are going to do to the truck and how much you are willing to put out for one.:pca1:

The banks is JUNK i've seen them crack or break and destroy motors.
There's no power gain for the VP trucks with a aftermarket intake horn unless its custom built! |
I have the S&B intake elbow but I haven't had a chance to see if it makes a difference or not.

You might want to check out TURBOLVRs intake plate. It's a nice piece and, from what I've read etc., might give more benifit EGT and flow wise than others. Now, put his AND an aftermarket piece together and you may even get better flow, yet.
