Default edge drag comp/ smarty stack

Hey guys, I have a few questions regarding stacking a smarty with an edge comp. I know there are a lot of older threads on this topic but I would like to get fresh information for myself. First I would like to ask exactly how much power is to be gained with a smarty on top of the existing comp? I have heard some guys lose power on the dyno but gain crazy low end. I know that a lot of you guys are running the adrenaline and are firm believers in that module but I have talked to several guys who have had them catch fire so I steered away from that and went for the comp. Is it worth my time and money to go ahead and get a smarty or is there a better option out there? I have also been doing some reading on the drag or "hot" unlock for the comp box. What are the advantages to doing this as far as hp gain, raising the redline, etc? Also what kind of horsepower and torque numbers can I expect with the smarty/drag comp stack along with 200 hp injectors, air dog 150, intake, HX35, and 5 inch exhaust? I would really appreiciate any info you guys could throw my way. Thanks

First the issue with the Adrenaline was taken care of a long time ago. Biggest advantage to stacking the Smarty with the Comp is to help the Automatic guys disable Torque Management. You will lose some top end power but you will also gain low end torque. 200hp injectors are WAY to big for the stock HX35. To run some 200's your going to need something like a Super Phat Shaft 64, Silver 62 or Compound Turbos.

the smarty comp stack slows you down. 200's are going to make some egts on a hx35. I have 200's in my setup now and it get warm when driving and towing.

The Smarty/ Comp stack makes less power than the Comp alone. The Drag version is the same as the hot unlock for the Juice. It simply allows the box to continue full fueling past 2700RPM.

You will feel like you are getting more low end throttle response. You get the same effect by simply pressing harder on the throttle.

With big sticks and a bigger charger later, you'll start getting all kinds of surge and driveability issues with the Smarty. Unless you neuter it and lose even more power.

That combo with 200 sticks ill probably make around 450HP. The turbine side of the charger isn't gonna allow you to make any more, no matter how much fuel you throw at it. Even with that charger used in a set of twins, you'll be limited to 530ish HP.

I've got 5 speed manual with this stack and RV275 injectors on the stock turbo. The Smarty makes a world of difference in towing with the low end and I've never found the top end of my truck so I don't even care about that. With these sticks EGT's are fine but I wouldn't want to go any bigger on the stock charger.

Right now were in hay season, I aint got first gear and I drag trailers around tween 20 and 30 thousand pounds. I've tried turnin the smarty off and its next to impossible to get it rollin. Smarty on I still gotta ride the clutch for a few feet while it builds boost but then were off and flyin. Its a dog in that low end without the smarty and that comp kicks *** once yer movin down the road.

Right now I am running the comp along with the 200 horse injectors, air dog, 5" exhaust, intake, and the HX 35. My boost levels stay in the 35-40 psi range which from what I understand is about all that charger is good to. Also I've never seen egt's over 1350-1400 and that is at WOT on a 100+ mph run. I never tow with the truck anymore so that's not at all a concern. Is the hot unlock worth doing and do you think the smarty is worth losing a little power on the topside to gain a lot on the bottom? Also I have been considering going to an S400 with a 66mm inducer and a 12cm exhaust housing or are these sizes too big, too small? Will that be a good charger for driving on the street along with sled pulling and if so how much power can I expect to see with that setup?

You have something going on because 200's on a HX35 will get much hotter than 1400. I can make my truck hit 1400 with just the Adrenaline with stock injectors on my HX35. I have customers hitting 1400 with 150's running a 62/65/14 charger. I would be willing to bet your injectors arent 200hp.
