It was my own fault, but it was confusin the hell outa me to. I was just assuming to many things and not asking the obvious questions. In my case when I stopped using the stock filter cannister I removed it completely and just assumed that is what everybody did. Took me a long time to realize he left the stock fuel line in place but still used new. Again I just assumed everybody removed dead parts. I also thought I remembered seeing that he was adding a larger pick up tube in some previous threads. So not that he was doing anything wrong by leaving this stuff in place, it just caught me off guard. For me, a lesson learned for the future to quit assuming things and ask the questions.

And Im with ya on the stock hose locks, junk. I put hose clamps on everything.

Yeah I left mine on there as well incase I sold the truck I could hook the stock system back up and keep my Performer system.

i got 2 push lock connectors for 3/8" line and a T fitting for 1/8" NPT. I now have between 13 and 14 PSI at idle. I was hoping for closer to 15/16 but i guess its better than 2 PSI anyway. I need to get a couple hose clamps for that T fitting and maybe take it apart and thread tape the threads as it has a slow fuel leak right now. Just a drip.

NO thread tape...!!! You do NOT want teflon tape in your IP.

Liquid Teflon Paste or Permatex #2.

Your pressure could be a reading issue with the gauges - get a tester and see if they are the same. Is your fuel pressure gauge hooked at the VP or is it on the filter housing? You said filter housing right?

This is what I would do:
Plumb the FASS to the fitting on the back top edge of the stock Fuel Cannister. Run a 6micron filter in that spot, run the stock line to the VP44 and replace the banjo bolt with a style that has a port on the back of it. Attach up your FP gauge to that point and you should see the FASS 95 GPH units sit at 14 to 16 and the FASS 150 GPH units sit at around 15 to 18 psi at idle.

Like I said, drop me an email if you get stuck.

ok then, i wont use teflon tape. I cut the fuel line right ahead of the IP about a foot before it and put my T fitting there. Reads 14 PSI idle

so use liquid teflon paste (what the diff. between that and the tape) or use permetex #2 (gasket maker???)

PTEX #2 is best and likely cheaper. It is diesel fuel resistant and stays where you put it. If the tape would stay put it would be ok as well but when you tighten up the threads it tends to migrate which can cause problems. 14PSI is good.
