Well everyone, i have what i consider a "major" fuel leak at my tank. It appears all my fittings are dry from the install. I did however leave the old suction line from the tank where it sits and i am wondering if thats where my fuel is coming from....It appears to be it but everything is soaked in fuel so i honestly am not positive. If anyone knows whether the leak would be from the old suction line or not would be greatly appreciated

 

I did the same thing a freaked. Drain all the fuel out of your old filter canister with the water seperator and see if it still does it tomorrow. It only takes a little fuel to look like a lot the way it spreads. I drained mine and the leak was gone.

Fuel should not come out of any of the tubes on top of the tank as long as you still have the module in place. I would put my bets on the threaded ring that holds the module down not being on straight. This allows the module to move around in the tank as the fuel sloshes and let's fuel leak out the seal.

 

well i only have an 1/8 tank of fuel in it now.......cant see how driving down a flat smooth road will slosh fuel way up and out enough to make the mess its making

 

If all the fittings and fuel line are dry, it's the only place left. You did get the Vent hose hooked back up right. The smaller hose that runs along side your fuel filler hose.

 

You have also check both fuel lines, both the supply line and the fuel return line.

 

yeah thats all fine, and i never touched the ring for the module.....im still thinking its something to do with that factory disconnected suction line...

 

Theres nothing attached to it, right. If not it is just a dead line that goes all the way to the bottom of the tank, with a screen at the bottom and a 45degree bend in it. Would be next to impossible for fuel to come up that tube with nothing for suction pulling it. By the way, you way want to cap that to keep road spray out of the tank.

 

How did you put the new pick up in without removing the module from the tank. I hope you did'nt drill a hole while it was still in the tank.
